Developed in the year 2005, Punit Van is known to house around 3500 species of plants. The park is home to more than 100 species of birds.
One of the distinct features of this park is that the garden is arranged according to the various zodiac signs in Hindu Mythology. The park is divided into various sections like the Panchvati van, the nakshatra van and so on. Each of these sections resembles multiple features from the Hindu Mythology and also depicts what the zodiac signs mean through the arrangement of the trees. Puneet van also links the zodiac signs with the positioning of celestial bodies.
The Park houses more than 100 species of birds and is a paradise for birdwatching. Ranging from common Eurasian Dove to Indian paradise flycatcher. Indian Peacock, Asian Koel, Pond Heron, Green Bee-eater are some of the easy to find birds. Paradise flycatcher, Yellow Footed green Pigeon, Indian White-eye are some difficult to sight. There is man made pond in the center of the park as well. Park is home to some reptiles as same. A of word of caution, be vigilant around your surroundings specially near the pond, you may encounter snake.
